Bio

Wendy Smith is a Minnesota native who still lives and works in her home state. A very creative child, she was always inventing, imagining and dreaming under her favorite maple tree or inside the lilac bushes. She got her start in the fine arts in her college days with her first public exhibit. Her paintings are now part of corporate and private collections worldwide.

Wendy calls her style abstract representational with vibrant color. Her expressionistic paintings are filled with wonder, life and light. Her love of nature and unique way of seeing the world, shine through her mixed media works of art. She loves to explore several mediums and mix it up.  Wendy says  "Painting is an outward way to express my inner voice and spirit." She is inspired by colors, light, emotions and the natural world as well as her faith. 

She is currently working on a new body of work that includes animals, flowers and people that represent freedom. She is not only a fine art painter but is also a ceramic artist. Her husband is a potter and together they're building a large studio on their land in northern Minnesota. Wendy is a graduate of the Milan art institue.
